Stefano Pesapane: A New Chapter with About Her

I’m very pleased to share my new interview with Musicura.it, following the release of About Her.

In the interview, I look back at some of the experiences that have shaped my journey through music—from the very beginning, when I was creating my first “drum kit” with detergent containers and my mother’s pot lids, through my jazz studies, years of performing and touring, my move to the Netherlands in 1999, and eventually my transition into songwriting and music production.

Each stage of the journey has brought something different. Jazz taught me the importance of listening and musical interaction. Playing in very different environments taught me adaptability. Touring introduced me to different musical languages, people and places. Moving to the Netherlands opened the door to a new and highly international musical environment.

Over the years, my role in music has continued to evolve. While the drums remain at the heart of who I am as a musician, songwriting and production have given me the opportunity to look at music from a much broader perspective—to understand a song as a whole and to explore the excitement of creating something from nothing.

About About Her

About Her represents a particularly personal moment in this journey.

The song was born from a reflection on the lasting impact that significant relationships can have on the person we become. It is an homage to the women who have inspired, challenged, influenced and shaped different parts of my life.

Although the inspiration is deeply personal, I believe the emotions behind the song are universal. We all have people and relationships that leave a lasting mark on us, even when those relationships have come to an end.

Musically, About Her allowed me to explore a different side of my identity as an artist. The combination of my own voice with synthesized voices and new production technologies gave me the opportunity to experiment with different vocal textures and create a sound that reflects the emotional character of the song.

For me, this is not simply another release. About Her marks the beginning of a new chapter.

What comes next

The journey continues.

I’m currently working on a new song, this time with lyrics in Italian, which I hope to release before Christmas. I’m also working on several projects and collaborations with Bentley Records, with further releases planned for the coming months.

There is still much more music to come, and I’m excited to see where this next chapter will lead.

The next chapter has already begun.

I’m pleased to share that my musical journey has been featured by 9 Lounges in a new article titled “Stefano Pesapane: From Nightclub Performer to Platinum Artist.”

Having my story told in this way gives me a chance to reflect on a journey that has taken me through many different chapters of the music industry.

From the stage to the studio

My relationship with music began at a young age. I started performing in nightclubs at 16, an experience that introduced me to the realities of performing, connecting with audiences and developing as a musician.

Over the years, that early passion grew into an international career, with opportunities to perform, collaborate and work with people from different parts of the music world.

But the journey didn't stop with performing.

As my experience developed, I became increasingly involved in production, songwriting, collaboration and the wider business side of the industry. These experiences eventually opened the door to another important part of my career: artist development and A&R.

A journey of evolution

One of the things I value most about this journey is that it has never followed a single straight path.

Being an artist, producer and music professional has meant constantly learning, adapting and finding new ways to contribute to the industry.

From the early days of performing to reaching platinum milestones and working behind the scenes with artists and music projects, every chapter has brought something different.

For me, success in music isn't only about one record, one achievement or one particular moment. It's about the accumulated experiences, relationships and lessons that shape you over time.

Beyond my own music, I’m also stepping deeper into the business side of things as an A&R with Bentley Records.
